Sustainable product innovation in agri-food industry: Do ownership structure and capital structure matter?

Sustainable product innovation is a key issue facing agri-food companies to maintain and increase their competitiveness. Based on sample of 320 international for the period 2002–2017, this paper analyzes role that ownership structure capital play with regard sustainable as well whether these financing decisions differ depending firm's structure. The results indicate family-owned firms show an aversion type eco-innovation projects, regardless source financing. On contrary, by cross-holdings favors investment in showing greater preference use debt versus auto-financing fund them.
